New Leaders Council Nashville (NLC Nashville) was founded in 2012 to support diverse progressive leadership in Tennessee and encourage civic engagement.
Our Mission: To recruit, train and promote the next generation of progressive leaders.
NLC Nashville is an official chapter of New Leaders Council (NLC) which is a 501(c)(3) that works to recruit, train and promote the progressive political entrepreneurs of tomorrow — trendsetters, elected officials and civically-engaged leaders in business and industry who will shape the future landscape.
Our mission is realized primarily through the Nashville NLC Institute; an intense, five-month progressive civic entrepreneurship training program, our Nashville NLC Institute is highly-selective, admitting only 15 to 20 fellows to each program. The typical NLC Fellow is a successful risk-taker and a progressive advocate.
New Leaders Council Nashville proudly boasts the support of the elected officials listed below. We thank these leaders for their support. As a 501(c)(3) charity, NLC does not endorse in any race, nor takes a position in any campaign.
The Honorable Jeff Yarbro, Tennessee State Senator
The Honorable Mike Stewart, Tennessee State Representative
The Honorable Megan Barry, Mayor of Metro Nashville and Davidson County
Scott Davis, Nashville Metro Councilperson
Anthony Davis, Nashville Metro Councilperson
Zach Young, Goodlettsville City Commissioner
